STANLEY EDWIN CAVANAGH

September 29, 2016

Cavanagh, Stanley Edwin

“Stan the Man” passed away suddenly on September 29, 2016. Stan was predeceased by his granny Gene Marsland; father Donald Harvey (Anne); and stepdaughter Megan. He will be dearly missed by his partner of 22 years Naomi Ebeling, stepson Aaron and their extended family; mother Lynn (Ted); 2nd mother “Aunty Jo” Jody Garrett (Uncle Gene); sisters Laura (Stelios) Rallis and “Mitch” Michelle; cousins that were more like brothers Mark and Bobby Garrett; nieces Nicki and Dimitra; nephew Andrew; and many more family and friends.

Stan was born in Ottawa, on July 16, 1961, where the family later moved to North Vancouver BC (1969). Stan went on to live in Benicia CA (1975); Whitehorse YT (1979) where he worked at Whitehorse Copper mine, and then settled in Nanaimo (1984) where he worked at United Van Lines/Nanaimo Minute Men for 20+ years .

Stan lived his life to the fullest since day one, he was always the life of the party and he would give you the shirt off his back; if he didn’t have one, he would find one for anyone in need. He was rough and tough on the outside but truly a teddy bear on the inside. He will be remembered for his risqué sense of humour, his love of family, adventure, and music; especially his passion for tinkering with his many guitars. As per Stan’s wishes, he was committed to cremation.

“Who loves ya baby - Stanley loves you.”
