Oct 18, 1951 - Jan 29, 2018
With the heaviest hearts we announce that Sharryl passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Sharryl is survived by her loving husband Michael, daughters Michelle (Adam) and Chelsea (Jared), brother Lindsay (Barcia) and father Don. She is predeceased by her mother Marlyn and grandmother Helen Lindsay.

Sharryl's story is one of love and devotion, beginning with meeting her future husband Michael when they both attended Nanaimo District Secondary School in 1968. They were together for a few years and then life took them in different directions. Twelve years later, they found each other once again.

Sharryl was a much-loved school teacher specializing in music at Forrest Park Elementary in Nanaimo and then Park Crest Elementary in Kamloops. During her teaching days she was known to her students as Mrs. Keeble. She ran the school choir and a guitar club, and delighted in taking her students on trips to Moorecroft Camp.

Sharryl and Michael married in 1982, moved back to Nanaimo in 1983, and by 1984 they welcomed their first child Michelle, followed by Chelsea two years later. Sharryl was a truly devoted mother.

Despite living with a chronic disability, she enthusiastically supported and nurtured her children's many activities, the most important of these being the gift of music, which continues to have a huge impact on both their lives.€

Thanks to the outstanding care provided by her very supportive husband and the home support workers from VIHA, Sharryl was able to live her full life at home.

Sharryl and Michael were married for "34 wonderful years," as Sharryl would always say.

Celebration of Life to take place at Christ Community Church on Thursday, February 8 at 1 pm.
