TALLIEU,

Sharon-Anne

My best friend and most beloved wife Sharon-Anne Tallieu, age 56, passed away suddenly and peacefully in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on March 2, 2013. Sharon is survived by her husband, Joe, of 36 years and their two daughters, Erin Bourcier and Jacklyn Locke.

Sharon was born in Nottingham, England on January 18, 1957; the daughter of Marion B. Stevenson and Paul B. Stevenson. She was a great friend to her brothers, Bill and John and shared a special bond with her younger sister, Paulette White. Not big in stature at 5’1”, her warm smile and loving heart towered mountains. Her life philosophy was simple, “Love God, Love your fellow man.” One of her favorite lines was, “God gives it in my hand because He knows I will pass it on.”

A very generous woman indeed, Sharon has sponsored over a dozen children in poor nations, volunteered at orphanages in Puerto Vallarta and most recently she ‘adopted’ a young Mexican man, Jorge, whom she brought to Canada for a year to complete his high school and is putting him through college. He had no family until he met Sharon.

Sharon will be remembered by many on the soccer fields as a great coach, here in the central island as well as in Newmarket Ontario, where she was also co-founder of the first Ladies Soccer League. Her career included working in advertising, collections, stocks and bonds, and real estate. However, she is widely known across North America as “Sharon of Motherload Transport Services.” She is highly respected in this “man’s industry” noted for her integrity, loyalty and never quitting when the going got tough.

In keeping with Sharon’s spirit of helping others, a fund has been set up. Any donations sent in lieu of flowers, thank you, will be given to the children and families that Sharon so lovingly supported.

Donations can be sent to: Sharon’s Blessings, 5941A Nelson Road, Nanaimo, BC, V9T 6P6; or through your financial institution to the Coastal Community Credit Union (Nanaimo BC) Acct Name: Sharon’s Blessings, Acct No: 100021766041

A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at Cavallotti Lodge, 2060 East Wellington Rd, Nanaimo BC, Saturday, March 30th at 3pm.
