Rudolf “Rudy” Schmidt
June 29, 1935 – January 5, 2016
Rudolf “Rudy” Schmidt, born in Russia on June 29, 1935, passed away peacefully at Arrowsmith Lodge in Parksville, BC on the morning of January 5, 2016.
He loved his family dearly and is survived by his wife, Carol Jackson; daughters, Lisa and Romana; as well as Brian, Sandra, and Scott and was Papa Rudy to Brittney, Keelie, Kyle, Steven and Ryan. He loved the outdoors and the beach where he made his home with Carol in Nanoose Bay.
A welder by trade, you could always recognize him as he wore his welding cap everywhere he went, even in his last days. Rudy was a kind and gentle soul and would help anyone who needed him. His “Smiling Eyes” and who he was to all of us and anyone who knew him, will be sorely missed. Our family would like to thank the staff at the Arrowsmith Lodge in Parksville for their undivided attention and care of our beloved Dad / Rudy.
A Celebration of Rudy’s life will be scheduled this Spring. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of BC.
