Born May 9, 1931, passed away June 26, 2011
He was predeceased by his brothers Dougie on August 30, 1950, and Buddy on January 27, 1999.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lucy, his children Doug (Judy) McArthur, Janice (Jack) Anderson, grandsons Keene (Darche), Clay, Jace (Brianne), Keene’s son Rylan and
stepdaughters Mykaela and McKenzie.
Ron worked for Baby’s Own Dairy prior to a 35 year career at Harmac. He was happiest when he was camping, fishing, or hunting with family and friends. He enjoyed his bonfires with an ice cold beer, especially at Horne Lake and Buttle Lake, time hunting with Doug and teaching his
grandsons how to fish.
Ron and Lucy spent many years in their motor home going south for the winter and camping
locally in the summer.
A celebration of life for Ron will take place on
Friday, July 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 256, 1630 East Wellington Road, Nanaimo. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in memory of Ron to the local SPCA.
