Blakemore, Roma
It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother Roma Blakemore on March 9, 2005. Born in Lethbridge, Alberta on February 3, 1928, Roma moved to Vancouver at the age of 12 and later met and married Ted, moving to Nanaimo in 1955 where she has resided the past 50 years. Predeceased by her husband Ted in 2003 and her son Murray in 1980. Left with many beautiful and wonderful memories is her beloved daughter Terry Malbon and sons David (Debbie), and Eric (Margaret) and grandchildren Connor, Lindsay, Jenna, Hayley, Ryan, Bailey, Ashley and Ellie Roma was very special to many people. She had a deep love for her family and was always willing to help in any way she could. She was truly one of a kind and will be long remembered for her exceptional giving nature, warmth and friendliness, and for being a genuine friend. A celebration of her life was held at the Nanaimo Golf Course Clubhouse at 2800 Highland Blvd. on Sunday March 20th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roma’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
