Robert L. (Bob) Peters

Passed away peacefully at Dufferin Place on September 10th at the age of 88.
He is lovingly remembered by daughter Pam and sons Paul (Jan) and Glen (Lorene).
He is pre-deceased by spouse Kay, son-in-law Brent and granddaughter Laura.
"Pa" will be missed by grandchildren Brad, Scott & Danielle, Kristen and Nicole & Blair as well as great grandchildren Brooklyn & Camryn and Chase & Chelsea.
Bob was born in Winnipeg in 1929 and married his love Kay there in 1953. He graduated from the University of Manitoba (Pharmacy) and later completed his MBA at Western University.
He enjoyed a rewarding career with The Bay that led his family on life adventures back and forth over the years between Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver.
He and Kay made a final move to Nanaimo in 1981 where Bob opened The Bay store, retiring in 1989 to indulge in favourite pastimes that included golf, curling, horse races, dinner/coffee groups and travel with family and friends. Bob was a member of the Board of Directors at Traveller's Lodge, an active member in Rotary and the Nanaimo Golf Club, where he also served on the Board.
He missed Kay dearly after she passed away in 2015. He was loved and will be missed.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the staff at Dufferin Place for their kindness, patience and gentle care over the past 15 months...particularly to nurse practitioner Bryan Say.
Special thanks to Bob and Kay's long time neighbours Garth & Janine and Graham & Louise for their friendship and assistance to the family.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 20th at the Nanaimo Golf Club, 2800 Highland Blvd, Nanaimo (250) 758-2451.
