Ralph Butler Fairbrother

FAIRBROTHER - Ralph Butler, born May 20th, 1920 in Dublin, Ireland passed away suddenly at Burnaby General Hospital on September 25th, 2017.

Predeceased by his loving wife, Catherine Miller Fairbrother on August 11th, 2017. Survived by his son Ralph Sinclair (Shirley) and daughter Margaret Catherine.

Pre-deceased by daughter, Elizabeth Georgina in July 2002. Survived by grandchildren, Chandra, Chloe, Selina, Barbara, Robert and great grandchildren.

Ralph served in World War II, he was a British Royal Marine. Ralph was married to Catherine in 1945 (72 years). He was an active member of his community in Nanaimo, BC having been a resident for 42 years. Ralph was a Past President of the Canadian Naval Association, served as a Lieutenant with Vancouver Island Military Museum and Instructor with the Power Squadron Association. He worked as an Agent for Nanaimo Realty, specializing in the Gulf Islands. Ralph loved the ocean (boating, fishing) an avid golfer as well.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A private family service will be held in November for both Ralph & Catherine Fairbrother who passed within weeks of each other.

No flowers are requested, donations to a charity of choice in their names is appreciated.
