Peggy Ann Mueller

(nee Read)

Peggy Ann Mueller (nee Read) passed away quietly in the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo General Hospital on June 30, 2014 after a long struggle with dementia. Peggy was born in Toronto Ontario on March 9, 1946 and grew up in London Ontario. She is survived by immediate family members her loving husband Reinhard (Rein) Mueller, son Brent Mueller, daughter Leaha Chamberlain, son-in-law Rodger Chamberlain, and daughter in-law Audrey Panter, along with her mother Edna Read and sisters Donna Burns and Linda Read. Peggy also had three grand-daughters she loved very much and they will miss her dearly – Delaney Chamberlain, Madison Chamberlain and Mackenzie Mueller. Peggy moved to British Columbia where she met Rein and they built a family together. She worked on the BC Ferries and later made her career in industrial first aid training, and certification, becoming a First Aid Officer with the Workers Compensation Board. Her family is very proud of her career and the fact Peggy helped hundreds of British Columbians become proficient in the art of saving people’s lives. She always made the holidays a special time, and when she was raising her family, she and Rein would often go camping and fishing with Brent and Leaha, and family friends. She gave all her family so many great memories. Peggy was predeceased by her brothers Denis Read and Walter Read and her father Harry Read. She was very proud of the fact that her dad Harry was an RCAF bomber pilot who served in Europe during World War II. Rest now Nana – you earned it. At Peggy’s request, there will be no service.
