Paul Morpak

Sept. 21, 1936 - July 24, 2014

The Morpak family regretfully announces that on July 24, 2014 Paul lost his courageous battle with cancer.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Eileen of 57 years, daughter Janice, sons Brian (Lynn) and Jeff (Roxann) as well as 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, twin brother Peter (Irene) and sister Celia (Joe).

Paul was born in Saskatoon, SK on Sept. 21, 1936 where at the age of 18 he met and married Eileen. He worked most of his life as a journeyman glazier. They had four children then moved to Kamloops where he was predeceased by their son Greg in 1979. Gradually the entire family moved to Nanaimo where Paul and Eileen managed an apartment building, then worked with their soon Jeff at his glass shop where Paul because known as the “Glass Ninja”. All who knew him, knew him as a hard worker, a great story teller and most of all a family man. In all the homes in our family there is furniture refinished, yards landscaped and walls painted lovingly by Paul for his family. We will sorely miss his companionship and laughter in our lives and there will forever be an empty spot by the fire.

A celebration of life will be held in Paul’s honour at Genesis Church, 4355 Jingle Pot Road on Sat., August 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Paul’s memory to the Nanaimo Palliative Care unit at the NRGH.
