In Loving Memory ~
Patricia was born in Yorkshire, England and although raised in England, spent several years living in Alexandria, Egypt where her father was stationed prior to World War II.
Pat was predeceased by her sister Dorothy and by her husband of 62 years, Charles "Kel" Kelly.
In 1952, Patricia and Charles moved to Canada to raise children Nicholas, Steven (Brenda), Jane, and Michael. Patricia was blessed with grand-children: Suzie, Dan, Jeremy and Emma, and the "greats": Grace, Max, Owyn and Elodie.
Pat and Charlie lived in Calgary until 1972 when they moved to Nanaimo.
For years Pat wrote humorous articles for the Calgary Herald. She was also published in Chatelaine and Homemakers magazine. In Nanaimo she wrote for the Nanaimo Daily Free Press and the Nanaimo Bulletin. Readers would often tell her how much they enjoyed her column.
Pat had a great sense of humour, was very outgoing and liked to meet new people. She took great joy in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. For more than 20 years she volunteered at NRGH. She loved all living things, especially her dogs.
The Kelly family would like to thank her long-time Cosgrove neighbours as well as everyone at Woodgrove Manor who treated Pat with kindness and dignity over the last 18 months.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held at the Nanaimo Golf Club in the Macan Banquet Hall on Monday July 25th from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.
If anyone wishes, donations in Pat's name can be made to the SPCA.
