Mom moved to Vancouver shortly after she finished school, where she met Gus in Steveston. After they were married, they moved to Deep Bay where they started their family. Mom worked alongside Dad in all of his many ventures. They loved to travel, spending many winters in Yuma as “snowbirds.” They spent summers travelling in their RV all across Canada and enjoyed the north, spending time in the Territories and Alaska.

A great hostess, mom loved visiting with all of her family and friends. The coffee pot was always on, and a meal couldn’t be missed. She was famous for her great pastries and excellent cooking. She was a member of the Qualicum Bay Lions.

Special thanks to Dr. Denegre, Francis, and the doctors and nursing staff on the third floor at NRGH. Thanks also to the girls at Stanford Place Care Campus who made Mom’s last days comfortable.

Donations can be made, on Mom’s behalf, to The Weekend to End Women’s Cancer “BC Sisters” Team. A service will be held at the Cumberland Cemetery on June 11, 2011 at 1:00pm, with a Celebration of Life following.
