January 27, 1926 - November 19, 2021
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Norene Sarah Cootes on November 19, 2021 in Nanaimo, BC. Norene peacefully passed just as the longest lunar eclipse was also passing. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 70 years Albert Edward Cootes on May 30, 2021.
She is survived by her son Rodney (Tracy), grandchildren to whom she would always say "Love never fails" Amanda (Connor), Anders and Sierra as well as several nieces and nephews. Norene was born in Nanaimo on January 27, 1926 and spent the majority of her life in Lantzville. She met and married Albert on April 8, 1950 while working at the Queen's Printer in Victoria. In 1967 they welcomed their son Rodney into the world.
Always a lady she was a very kind and loving person with many friends. She will be dearly missed, fondly remembered and forever loved.
At Norene's request there will be no service. Her ashes will be scattered in the ocean near her family home in Lantzville along with her husband Albert. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the CNIB.
