KOTVAL, Minoo N.
October 15, 1930 – February 22, 2015
Minoo passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 following a brief illness.
He leaves his cherished wife of 50 years, Vera, his daughter Kirsten, his sons Neville and Keith, and three especially impish grandchildren.
Minoo was raised in Bombay, the son of Nariman and Banoo (née Kanga) Kotval. As a young man he went to sea, first landing in Scotland where he worked as a marine engineer for a dozen years before settling in British Columbia, where he worked as a mechanical and project engineer, and raised his family. Minoo was a 44 year resident of Nanaimo.
He was an avid mechanic and woodworker who enjoyed his workshop and the tools in it, the house and garden, computers and the internet, and a hearty conversation with both long-time and newly-acquired acquaintances.
He filled his minute – every minute – with sixty seconds’ worth of distance run.
He will be sorely missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
