Affectionately known as “Aitkee” by two generations of Pine Street brats, passed away peacfully in NRGH on March 8, 2005. Predeceased by her loving husband and life’s love, Pete in 1989 as well as her older brothers, Peter(1996) and Campbell(2005). Survived by her devoted son Randy, her three “big” sisters, Isabelle, Bessie and Jane and numerous nieces and nephews. Marion was born in MacDowell, Saskatchewan on August 3, 1920. She moved to BC in 1942 to train and become a nurse at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Marion moved to Nanaimo after marrying “gullible” Pete in 1949, living in the Pine Street home they made for 51 years until she moved into Lakeside Gardens in 2000. At Marion’s request(orders) there will be a simple private get together for her many friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Marion (and her baking, especially those cinnamon buns) will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
