Marie Jeanne Lilianne (Lil) McPherson
July 12, 1937 - September 30, 2016
Lil passed peacefully at the N.R.G.H. Palliative Care with her husband and children by her side.
She is survived by her husband Don, sons Ken (Debra), Robert and daughter Wendy (Todd) and grandchildren Riley (Jesse), Scott and Sawyer. Her canine caregivers, Bonnie and Cara, miss her tremendously.
Mom was a talented cook and perceptive listener. Fitting that she met Dad, a hungry and loquacious young man. A 50 year romance ensued.
Recent good times were shared with sister Blanche and friends Vikki, Gord and Joy.
In her final years, vascular dementia and heart disease began to slowly erode Mom’s faculties and mobility. Her spirit and faith remained strong. And until her rapid deterioration in health Mom was able to enjoy happy hour surrounded by friends and family.
A Celebration of Life has been held at Tigh-Na-Mara and many fond memories were shared. Flowers are gratefully declined in favour of donations to the Alzheimer’s Society.
