GREEN, MALCOLM EDWARD, passed away in NRGH on Friday, May 17, 2002. Born in Wealdstone, England on June 12, 1911. He came to Canada in 1919. He was predeceased by his first wife of 34 years, Louise (Rumsby) and sister Edna. Survived by his loving wife Myrl of 32 years. His children John (Valerie) Green and Anne Turner of California, his step daughter Kay (Bob) Watson, his grandchildren Karen (Mark), Laurel of Faro Yukon, Jeff of Vancouver, Sean & Myrin of Calif., his step grandchildren Geri (Gord), Angie (Marty), Rhonda. Step great grandchildren Eric, Adam, Tory, Matthew, Nolan & Tanis. One brother Claude of Duncan, a niece Sylvia Dyer of Victoria and nephews Dr. Peter Swan of Toronto and Sir Conrad Swan of Boxford England. Malcolm lived in Duncan and worked for the CPR. He later joined his brother in the painting business. In 1947 he moved to Nanaimo and managed the old Somerset Hotel. In 1949, he was employed in the construction of the first phase of Harmac and became head hand of the carpentry dept., retiring in 1976. During his retirement, he was an avid golfer. The family is grateful to Dr. Davies and Dr. Spry and nursing staff of NRGH for their care and attention. There will be a celebration of his life at Kay and Bob’s at 1527 Knight Court Rd., May 25/02 from 2-4 p.m.
