Lorence Robert Flint

March 24, 1950 - September 20, 2017

Lorence Robert Flint passed away peacefully at home with his three children at his side on September 20, 2017.

Lorence was born in Victoria, BC on March 24, 1950 and raised in Cedar, BC.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan (Brian), Melanie; his son Noel (Courtney); his grandchildren, Tristan and Brixton; his loving dog, Lizzie; his sister Ethel (Andrew); his brother George (Norma) and many nieces and nephews.

We find peace knowing that our Dad and our Papa is together again with his loving parents, William and Florence and his love, Verna.

Lorence was happiest surrounded by his family; he lived life to the fullest and enjoyed hunting; he especially looked forward to hunting camp every year; fishing, camping and playing Keno.

He was a proud member of the Whalley #229 Royal Canadian Legion for many years and recently joined the Branch 10 Legion in Nanaimo.

Lorence was a volunteer firefighter at the Cedar Fire Hall in the 1970's; he worked at Johnston Terminals and Public Freightways before he went into business on his own and created TMS Transportation with his partners. After he sold his shares and retired he was able to spend some happy years with Verna, volunteering at the Legion, camping, travelling, gardening and baking.

Heartfelt thanks to all the Nurses and Doctors who cared for our Dad and Papa; the staff at Westhill Pharmasave and Dr. Davina Kazanowski.

We are especially grateful to the Nurses, Doctors and Staff in the Palliative Care Unit who cared for our Dad and Papa with kindness and respect and were instrumental in helping us to honour his wish to come home.

Our Dad and Papa will always be remembered for the love he had for us.

In lieu of flowers, please honour him by making a donation to the Palliative Care Unit at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital or to the Nanaimo District Hospital Foundation.

A service will be held at the Branch 10 Legion, 129 Harewood Road on Sunday, October 15 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
