Leonard passed away at home in the company of people who loved him. He honourably served his country for 24 years as a Warrant Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy (1952-1976).
Leonard was predeceased by his wife Carol (2009) and his son Stuart (1997) as well as his parents Sarah and William Hawtin. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons James Ross Hawtin and Craig Bryant Hawtin, his daughter Joan Mauldon, as well as his two grandchildren Tyler James and Sophia Mckenzie.
He enjoyed his memberships with the Nanaimo Fish and Game Club and enjoyed sailing with the Nanaimo Yacht Club.
There will not be service by the family’s request.
