Leela Marie Torkko
Leela was born August 9, 1954, in Nanaimo and passed away suddenly October 1, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Honey Torkko, and her brother, Ted Torkko.
Leela is survived by her sister, Karen (John) Smith, Victoria, sister-in-law, Deborah Torkko, Nanaimo, nephews Kevin (Kim) Smith, Victoria, Ian Smith, Port Alberni, and nieces Keira (Thomas, Jeremy and Kyle) Fletcher, Ottawa, Paula (Sean, Jack and Josh) Procyshyn, Victoria.
Leela was a well-loved, compassionate, and caring member of her family and a long time volunteer with the Heart and Stroke Foundation. In lieu of flowers, donations to that organization at 401-495 Dunsmuir St., Nanaimo, BC V9R 6B9 would be appreciated.
