It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Julie at the age of 59 years. Born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, Julie immigrated to Canada setting in Edmonton Alberta with her family in 1965. Julie graduated from Ross Shephard High School in 1974, married Jim in 1975 and started a family with the birth of their two sons in 1980 and 1983. Subsequently, they relocated to Victoria, BC in 1987 and Nanaimo, BC in 1990. Julie worked as a legal secretary in these various locations but primarily held the position of Court Transcriber for the last 25 years in Nanaimo. Julie is survived by her husband Jim, sons James (Ashley) and Josh (Melissa), granddaughter Mikaylah, brothers Chris (Melissa) Tilburn and Gary (Val) Tilburn.
Julie was predeceased by her father Eric in 2000 and her mother Kathleen in 2016. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorial service to be held at 1 p.m., April 8, 2016, at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1 Newcastle Ave, Nanaimo, BC.
