John Hugh Hopkins

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Hugh Hopkins, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and friend.
John was born in Edmonton, Alberta and passed away at his home in Parksville, British Columbia. He was predeceased by his parents Clara Amy (nee Trickett) and Peter Joseph Hopkins and his brothers Peter, Joseph, and Patrick. John is survived by his dearly loved wife Joan, his daughters Cindy Hopkins and Shannon Yaredic (John), his grandchildren Robyn (Gary) and Joanna Yaredic, his brother Bernard, and numerous nieces and nephews. John was a loving man with a big heart who was always willing to lend a helping hand or listening ear. He will be warmly remembered for generosity, kindness, and wisdom, all of which were complimented by his ready sense of humour that always kept his family and friends smiling.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 30 at Tigh-Na-Mara (1155 Resort Dr., Parksville) in the Grand Strathcona Room.
