Massick, Jean born on July 13, 1917 in Nanaimo, BC passed away peacefully on June 29, 2002 in Nanaimo Regional Hospital. She is predeceased by: her first husband John Hamilton in 1965, her husband Ralph in 1999, her brother Bill Alexander and sister Ma ga ret Fowler. Jean is survived by: her daughter Susan Ha milton and her husband Norman Webster, her stepson Murray (Lin da) Massick, stepdaughters: Louise (Greg) Brunt and Jeanie. Jean is also survived by her sisters: Agnes Milligan and Jessie (Darrel) Cantlon, her four grandchildren: Tara (John) Tauscher, Glen (Alana) Massick, Keri (George) Willie and Maegan (Scott) Baillie, her seven great grandchildren: Marissa, Madyson, Brian, Brayden, Kailynn, Austin and Kade, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and her dear friend Jennie Bell. Jean was employed in the jewelry department of Eatons for 17 years and lat er worked for Bos ley’s Pet Food Mart for 12 years. Jean was also a Past Grand Fac tor of Na tive Daugh ters of BC and a Past Chief Factor and long standing member of Post #2. Jean was also a mem ber of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church for 70 years. Jean received a Certif cate of Merit for be ing an Outstanding Canadian Citizen award ed to her on Canada’s 125th birth day July 1, 1992 by the Nanaimo Canada Day Council. A memorial serv ice for Jean was held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Monday July 8, 2002 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Don Lindsay offciating, a reception followed in the Church Hall. In lieu of flowers, for those so desiring, donations, may be made in Jean’s memory to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, or to the charity of your choice.
