MANZER, James Ivan

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jim on the morning of September 5th, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born November 6th, 1921 in Regina, Sask. and graduated from the University of Manitoba. Upon graduation, he accepted a position as research scientist at the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo, where he continued until his retirement in 1986.

Jim is survived by his loving wife Joan of sixty years, his three daughters Dianne Cyr of Coquitlam, B.C., Dawn Valliere (Scott) of Nanaimo, and Mary Ann Scarr (Mike) of Tsawwaasen, B.C.; as well as four grandchildren Jimmy and Andrea Valliere and Robert and Ryan Scarr; his sister-in-law Lois Miller, and nieces and nephews. There will be no service by request. If desired, memorial donations may be made to B.C. Children’s Hospital.
