Henry passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 1, 2007 at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Frances, sons Ken (Myra), Dennis (Lynne) and his brother Bert of Duncan, BC. In addition, Henry will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Kendra, Kyra (Stuart), Kade (Sheryl), Grant (Irene), Peter (Kerryn), and Greg (Kelly). He also leaves his great grandchildren, Colton, Sierra, Alex, Thomas, and Claire.
Henry was born in Goat River, BC and as a young man moved to the coast where he worked as a logger. In later years he established his own business in Nanaimo before retiring in 1981. He possessed a keen mind and enjoyed a wide variety of interests during his long and productive life, ranging from steam engines and antiques to log cabin construction.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Beerman for his years of professional care, and also the kind staff of Dufferin Place, Arbutus unit who made Henry’s last days comfortable.
At Henry’s request no service will be held.
In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of choice in Henry’s memory would be appreciated.
