Irene CHARLES
June 2, 1933 – July 3, 2013
Irene Charles, of Nanaimo, BC passed away peacefully on July 3, 2013 at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, BC.
Irene is survived by her husband of 47 years, Terry; her sister, Joan Groot (Parksville, BC); brother, Ted Konings (Calgary, AB); and daughter, Kathleen Bussey (Kamloops, BC). Irene will be sadly missed by her loving husband, daughter, and grandchildren: Lee, Dana, and Renee; and also all of her nieces and nephews (with whom Irene spent many recreational hours during their younger years in Winnipeg, MB).
Irene was born on June 2, 1933 in Winnipeg. After marriage, Terry and Irene moved to Richmond, BC to raise their two daughters, Colleen Lentz (deceased 2006) and Kathleen. In 1989, Terry and Irene retired to join family and friends in Nanaimo, BC. Irene will be remembered most for her nurturing nature, her love of children, and her many contributions of knitted donations and services devoted at the Trinity Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank the management and staff of Trillium Lodge for their loving care and attention during Irene’s residency. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously request donations to your local Alzheimer’s Society.
Funeral service will be held at Trinity Catholic Church, 6234 Spartan Road, Nanaimo, BC at 11:00am on Saturday, July 13, 2013.
