Helen passed away peacefully at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by her family.
Helen is survived by son Jeff (Anne), Lantzville; daughter Ginny (Barry) Ostrand, Lantzville; daughter Linda Bryce, England; grandchildren Corey (Heidi) Fleming; David (Natalie), Holly and Heather Sponaugle; Jamie (Carina) and Mark Bryce; great grandchildren Demi, Lacey and Frankee Bryce; Kane Carlson, Lilli and Everett Fleming; Francis Sponaugle, as well as nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and many friends. Predeceased in 2009 by her loving husband Ev; also by father, mother, brother, and son-in-law John Bryce.
Helen worked at Nanaimo City Hall as secretary to the Mayor until her retirement in 1986. She was Past Worthy Matron of Crescent Chapter #10, Order Of The Eastern Star, and was an active volunteer in many community organizations.
A Celebration of Helen's life will be held at Branch 257 Royal Canadian Legion in Lantzville at 11:00 am on Friday, May18, 2018.
