In Loving Memory ~
Helen Hartman, much loved wife, mother and grandmother, and dear friend to many, passed away recently at the age of 93. She is deeply missed.
Helen was the eldest of three children born to Beatrice and Clayton Dawdy in the small southern farm town of Tilbury Ontario.
In 1957 she married Gordon, and together they raised four children in a life that took them across Canada and overseas. As Gordon pursued his calling in fisheries, Helen stood firmly on the front line at home.
Her children feel immense gratitude for the family life they created, and for her generosity in living a life focused on helping those she loved to thrive.
Throughout her life, Helen maintained a warm and welcoming home. Of special importance in later life were the friends who met regularly with her for coffee. She will be remembered laughing in a comfortable chair, a book on one side and cup of coffee on the other.
Helen is predeceased by her loving husband Gordon, and survived by her children, Ward (Monica), Paul (Gayle), Lisa (Luc) and Jon (Teri), her grandchildren Laura, Sean, Sarah, Eric and Max, and her great-granddaughter Elodie.
