SCOTT, HELEN HAMILTON
November 14, 1931 to August 26, 2007. With love, admiration and sadness, we say goodbye to Helen, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Helen was born in Greenock, Scotland to Agnes and Hugh Hamilton. She was raised in London and moved to Bridge o' Weir during the Second World War. She married Bill Scott in 1951 where they resided in Johnstone. They immigrated to Canada in 1965 to North Vancouver. Helen worked for many years at the Woodward's Bakeries at Park Royal, Guilford and finally at Port Coquitlam before retiring to Nanaimo in 1989. Helen was very involved with her family and friends. Helen enjoyed volunteering at the Bowen Park Senior's Center with the carpet bowlers where she made many friends. Helen leaves behind her husband, Bill of 56 years, sons Hugh (Bonnie), Jim (Sheila) and grandsons Kieran and Ryan. Also her sister Jessie Waldie and brother Hugh Hamilton from the Lower Mainland. We wish to extend our heart felt thanks to all the physicians and nursing staff who cared for Helen especially Dr. Mitchell and the 3rd Floor Nursing staff at NRGH for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Cancer Society or the Bowen Park Senior's Center. A tea will be held at Bowen Park Senior's Center to remember Helen on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 12:00pm for family and friends.
We'll always remember
that special smile
that caring heart,
that warm embrace,
you always gave us.
You were always there
for us through the good time and the bad,
no matter what.
We'll always remember
you because
there'll never be another one
to replace you in our hearts,
and the love we will always
have for you.
