We sadly announce that our dad, George Stanley Miller, passed away on August 5, 2018.
He was born and raised in "Five Acres" and was a lifelong resident of Nanaimo. He had two brothers, Jack and Gerald, four sisters, Ada, Kay, Claudia and Lucille.
George was happily married for 67 years to the love of his life, Dorothy, and they raised five children, Corinne, Steven, Susan, Sharon and Tom. He worked long and hard in the logging industry, often away from home, to support his family.
After retirement, he and Dorothy enjoyed spending time together at home with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends, and camping at a favourite spot on Lake Cowichan. George loved growing vegetables in his large garden, building and repairing things, helping out his children, grandchildren and their friends.
George was predeceased by daughter Corrine, son Tom and wife Dorothy. He is loved and survived by son Steven (Joy), daughters Susan (Rick) King and Sharon (Alan) Sterne, grandchildren Jennifer, Melissa, Christopher, Jeff, Matt, Megan, Adam, Greg and Laura, great grandchildren Jonah, Jayda, Jaiden, Avery, Bentley and Evelyn, sisters Ada Davie, Lucille Miller and sister-in-law Dorothy Miller, many nieces, nephews and cousin Roy Booth.
Thanks to home care support providers and staff at Dufferin Place for their care and compassion. Special thanks to grandson Matt for helping care for his Grandpa.
