Geoffrey passed away, peacefully, at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on October 18, 2013. He leaves behind loving wife, Roma; sons, Richard, Tony (Barb); and his grandchildren: Christopher, Mark, and grandson Tom in London, England. Predeceased by his son, Peter in London, England. Geoffrey also leaves behind loving nephews, nieces and friends, here and in England.

Born in Desborough, Northamptonshire, England, Geoffrey went to grammar school in Kettering. Upon leaving school, he worked for a few years. In 1943 Geoffrey was called for duty. He served 3.5 years in the British Royal Navy. Upon his release from the Navy he worked as a mechanic, and in 1949 married Roma. In 1952 Geoffrey left England for Canada, where he worked a year in Alberta on the Oil Rigs. Roma left England in 1953 with son, Peter (2yrs old). From there, Geoffrey went to work on the DEW line, while Roma lived in Alberta. Geoffrey and Roma, with sons Peter and now Tony, moved to Fort Nelson where he worked for 6 years. Geoffrey and family moved to Edmonton in 1963; in 1964 son, Richard was welcomed into the family. Geoffrey worked 22 years as General Manager of the University of Alberta Vehicle Pool. In 1985 he retired to the Courtenay area, from there he moved to Nanaimo, where he spent the rest of his life. In his retirement years, he loved gardening and watching NFL and European football.

The family would like to thank the ER staff at NRGH, from doctors to nurses, for the care and compassion they showed to Geoffrey in his final hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital or the Salvation Army.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Family & friends will be notified.
