Florence Marie Carver (nee MacDonald)
age 79, of Nanaimo passed away January 13, 2011
Flo was born to the late Beulah and Black Jack MacDonald on November 5, 1931 in Edmonton AB. Flo moved to Nanaimo in 1939 and graduated from John Shaw High School. She met and married James (Jim) Carver in 1956 and they raised their two children in Nanaimo.
Flo was employed with Nanaimo Realty for more than 30 years. She was actively involved in Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Catholic Women’s League. Jim and Flo were avid campers and fishers. They enjoyed their many extended RV vacations throughout North America.
Flo is survived by her husband Jim; her children, Murray (Val) of Nanaimo, Lynn (Jeff) of Port Moody; the 5 stars of her life her grandchildren: Dustin, Jenna, Meghan, Jared and Liam; her sister Loyis Glassford of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the emergency response team and the staff at NRGH ICU for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nanaimo Hospital Foundation.
A service will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011, 1:00 pm at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 301 Machleary St, Nanaimo BC. A tea will follow in the Parish Hall.
