It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emily Lawson (nee Davis) on December 3, 2020.
Emily passed away peacefully at 81 years of age in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family and will be greatly missed.
Emily was born in Durham, UK on January 5th, 1939. The Lawson family emigrated to Canada in 1970, residing in Grande Cache, Alberta before moving to Cedar, BC in 1975.
Emily is survived by her daughter Judith (Graham), her sons Steve (JoAnn) and Brad (Karen), her grandsons Brandon and Sean, and her sisters Nora (Stan) and Kathleen (Harry) in England.
She was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and George, her brother Geoffrey, and her husband Brian.
Emily enjoyed quilting and reading, was an avid follower of tennis and soccer, but she was particularly fond of lawn bowling. As a well-loved member of the Nanaimo Lawn Bowling Club, Emily became an accomplished bowler and made many friends through her involvement in the sport.
