BAILEY, Edgar Albert (Al)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of a loyal, kind and loving man, Edgar Albert (Al) Bailey, at home on March 18, 2014, after a valiant fight against cancer.

Born on December 22, 1942 in Nanaimo, BC, Albert had an incredible journey with various professions over the years, including a stint in the Canadian Navy, working on the Reid with Fisheries and Oceans and the Pacific Biological Station, as a Guide on the West Coast of BC, Truck Driving and as a Taxi Driver with AC Taxi for a number of years.

Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his best friend and partner Sheila Morley, her children: Nicole (Tony) Tilley and Chris Morley, and grandchildren: Coby, Meghan, and Alanah and extended family and friends.

Albert’s memorial will be held on Saturday, March 29,2014 at 2pm at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1720 Bowen Rd, Nanaimo BC.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fenton and team at the BC Cancer Clinic in Victoria, Dr. E. Fritsch and Dr. M. Terlingen for their compassion and care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
