Doreen O. Anderson

June 6, 1926 - December 8, 2012

Doreen passed away, peacefully, with Jack, Janis and Karen by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her family: son, Jack (Janice); daughter, Janis (Henry) Zwynenburg; her 5 grandsons and their families: Keene (Darche), Rylan, Kyler, Mykaela and Mackenzie, Derek (Siri), Clay (Jen), Jake and Logan, Jace (Brianne) and her brother, Bruce (Jean) Pausche. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack “Major” Anderson in 1965; her sister, Betty Charles in 2000; her mother, Olive Pausche (Biggs) in 1992 and her dad, Joseph Pausche in 1950.

Doreen, being widowed at a young age, moved from Duncan to Nanaimo to be closer to family. She worked in the grocery industry for many years in various capacities in Duncan, Nanaimo and Parksville. Once she retired, Doreen’s loves in life were nature, cooking for family (teaching all 5 grandson’s how to cook and sew) needlepoint, knitting, crafts, reading and playing scrabble on her computer.

Many thanks to her niece, Karen (Ki) Charles for her support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank We Care and Home Support for helping us care for Mom at home. A family gathering was held on Sunday, December 16th. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre in Errington.
