Cecil L. (Roy) Nicol

Mar. 16, 1928 – Dec. 9, 2009

It is with sadness our family has to announce the death of our father.

Born in Lomond, Alberta, Roy came to the Island in 1966. Manager of the Cigas office in Campbell River until transferred back to Whitecourt, Alberta in 1967. Determined to return to this beautiful ocean island, he has lived in Qualicum Beach as owner of the Buena Vista Motel, and Lantzville again as a Manager of the Nanaimo Cigas office, at which time he had his first battle with his heart.

Survived by his wife of 40 years, Iris M. (Francis); four sons: Darcy, Kent (Kathy), Grant, and Blake; two daughters Sharron (Gary) and Brenda (Craig) and their families; grandchildren: Sean, Steve, Jay, Geoff, Greg, Katherine and Tanner as well as 10 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. A notice will be put in this newspaper or keep in touch with Iris (Francis).

In lieu of flowers please make a donation, in memory of Roy, to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
