Rena passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18 with her daughter, Helen and son-in-law Greg at her side. Originally from Scotland, she leaves behind friends and family there including her daughter, Isabel (Pete), and Granddaughters Mhairi and Ailidh. From North America, she is survived by her Brother Alex (Nellie) Thomson and their extended family, as well as daughter Helen (Greg), Granddaughter Stephanie (John) and Grandson Glen (Shawna). Rena had four Great Grandchildren: Keira, Sawyer, Thomas and Mack. She became especially close to Shawna, Thomas and Mack near the end and also appreciated seeing her nephew Alex, all who would visit her often at the Palliative Care Unit and also Dufferin Place.
Rena was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. It was there that she met some of her closest and dearest friends who were there for her when she needed them most. All of the generous people who took care of her these past few months during her stay at the Palliative Care Unit and at Dufferin Place, Thank You.
Rena was a wee lass with a strong mind and a beautiful heart. We will miss you Great Gran.
