Carmen Borrelli

Nov. 17, 1940 ~ Nov. 20, 2016

Carmen Borrelli, born November 17, 1940, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2016 after a courageous battle against a variety of medical issues. He was predeceased by his parents and 3 sisters, Liliana, Angelina and Tonina. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eileen, 3 sons; Rick (Julie), Rob (Margie) and Jan (Dawn), 6 grandchildren; Dean, Miranda, Bryan, Marissa, Colin and Jared, and 4 siblings; Nella, Joe, Nick and Anna, as well as a large number of friends, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Carmen immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1957. He settled in Nanaimo in the 1960’s and ran a successful concrete business until his retirement in the mid 1990’s. Staying active for as long as he was able, he loved gardening, fishing, camping and woodworking. From these hobbies, he loved nothing more than entertaining friends and family at his home and sharing all the fruits of his labour. His wine-making and culinary skills were graciously served and enjoyed by many over the years.

The family would like to thank his Doctors and nurses for their compassion during his last week and the dialysis staff for their care over the last year.

A service will be held at a later date.
