November 11, 1951 – February 9, 2019
Brenda passed away peacefully with family by her side at Vancouver General Hospital at the age of 67.
She is survived by her sister Kathy Joyal, brother-in-law Jerry Joyal, nephews Christopher, Jason and Trevor Trolitsch, niece Stephanie Trolitsch, step mother Wendy Pearson, sister- in-law Kelly Pearson, step sister- inlaw Marnie (Charles) lngvaldson, step daughter Cathy MacKenzie and step son Douglas Belcher as well as extended family members.
She is predeceased by her sister Lynne Trolitsch, her brother Mark Pearson and her husband Digby.
Brenda was the eldest of four children born in Nanaimo to Harold & Darline Pearson. She attended many different schools and after graduating high school in Terrace, she travelled throughout Europe with her longtime friends Diane and Marilyn. Brenda’s morning ritual of emails also kept her in touch with Janis another great school friend. Brenda was not only fortunate enough to work with, but also reside and enjoy life with her sister Lynne while working in Vancouver.
Brenda loved to garden. It was quite funny how she could be out in the yard all day long pulling weeds and planting and at the end of the day be so fresh and clean. While she was not Monet or Picasso, she enjoyed getting together with the Tuesday morning ceramic art group or lending a hand to her sister Kathy to help get projects ready for events. Again, she always stayed fresh and clean… not like some us.
Brenda was working at HFC in Nanaimo when she met Digby, the love of her life and after a great friendship, they married in 1982. Brenda worked alongside Digby in finance and real estate and made sure they took the time to travel the world together often with friends Sally & Al.
Eventually it was decided to winter a little closer to home and Sun City Arizona became their winter getaway with good friends Dave & Eileen, their Canadian snowbird friends and American neighbours.
Cruising the local waters, down island and north to Desolation Sound, Brenda was Digby’s first mate. Her friends Donalda, Frank & Sylvia, Eileen & Dave have lots of fond memories and stories to tell. The last few years Kevin and Lou-Ann were also enlisted as crew joining the nautical group.
Brenda will be especially and forever missed by many. She was a great sister… lady… friend… wife… and more… someone we will never forget.
In honour of Brenda’s wishes, there will be a simple gathering of family and close friends. Date, time and location TBA.
