In Loving Memory ~

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Betty Wong. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and close friends.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Norman in 2014.

She leaves behind her daughter Stephanie (Raymond) Ng and Curtis (Eliza); granddaughters, Tessa and Chloe; siblings, Bubbles (i.e. Barbara), Harvey (Susan), Clifford (Colleen); as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Born and raised in Nanaimo, Betty first worked in the office at CIBC, Canada Trust, and then the RCMP before staying home to be with her children during their younger years. She later worked part time in the office at Vancouver Island Appraisals.

While in Nanaimo she enjoyed socializing with family and friends, going to the casino and 5-pin bowling at Fiesta Lanes. Per one of her stories in her Storyworth subscription she "started golfing at the ripe old age of 52." By then Norman had already been golfing regularly at Cottonwood Golf Course. Betty enjoyed golfing so much she stopped bowling and joined the ladies club at Cottonwood.

After Norman passed away Betty moved to Burnaby to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She started 5-pin bowling again in a league at Old Orchard Lanes until it closed down permanently during COVID. She went to a weekly exercise class at Edmonds Community Centre.

She enjoyed socializing and going out for lunch regularly several times a month with her sister, sister-in-law and extended family members. As in Nanaimo she continued to make donations at the local casino.

Private cremation and private Celebration of Life will be held. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Betty, or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
