In Loving Memory ~

July 1927 to February 2024.

Audrey Pearl Best (nee Morton), 96, of Nanaimo BC passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024.

Audrey was born and raised in Nanaimo. She attended Pauline Haarer elementary and John Shaw High School. Audrey went on to work for Lovicks Photography Studio where she learned to hand colour monochrome photographs. She carried this skill into watercolour painting as a hobby later in life.

She loved singing and often regaled the family with an impromptu concert of show tunes, generally while everyone else was watching television.

She travelled through much of the United States and Canada. Audrey loved nature and was an avid walker. She was especially fond of walking the trails at Neck Point. She was one of the original members of the 'Walk Around the Clock' walkers at Woodgrove Mall.

Audrey is survived by her daughter Kathleen (David) Clark, daughter Karen Best, grandchildren Kelly Clark and Anthony (Autumn) Clark, and great grandchildren Alexia, Juniper and Jasper.

She is also survived by her sister Dorothy Patty, brother-in-law Kenneth Best, sisters-in-laws Sandra Best, Elizabeth (Barry) Darby and Joyce Kotchonoski, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Douglas Best, her daughters Ruth and Linda Best, grandson Jeffrey Clark, parents Arthur and Beryl Morton, and brother Henry Morton.

The family would like to thank the staff of AgeCare Chartwell for their care of Audrey during her stay. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
