December 28, 1946 ~ April 23, 2017

Allen passed away suddenly from an unexpected

diagnosis of cancer. He was surrounded by his

family and friends shortly before he passed with his “bride” by his side.

Allen lived in Nanaimo for the last 25 years with his “bride” Gail Baumhour of 50 years. Gail and Allen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Allen will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of his daughter Kim Hatton, granddaughters Timara Hatton, and Taylor Newman. The legacy of Allen will live on in the lives of his great grand babies whom he loved very much, Abbey and Grady Shepherd. He created many memories that will live on with his sister-in law Linda McDonald and his brother Louis Baumhour who lives in Halifax. Allen loved spending time cruising on his Harley Road Glide Ultra, fishing, spending time on the water on their boat with his “bride”. He also enjoyed having coffee with his friends at the Windward Pub.

Allen retired from the Royal Canadian Navy after 25 Years of service, which brought him and his family out to Vancouver Island from the East Coast.

Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made

to Nanaimo Community Hospice in memory of Allen.

A Celebration of Allen’s life will be announced at a later date.
