A Nanaimo family would like a mulligan after giving away the wrong set of golf clubs outside a thrift store earlier this week.
Adam Ali was running an errand and giving away a set of old golf clubs to charity, but due to a misunderstanding, gave away two sets of clubs, including his daughter’s set which wasn’t meant to be donated.
Ali was in the process of dropping off the clubs Monday, March 1, at about noon at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on the old Island Highway in north Nanaimo, but as he was doing so, a man driving a red or orange pickup truck offered to take the clubs and Ali gave them to him.
The family asked the News Bulletin to try to spread the word about the mistake.
“Anything we can do to try and find who got them, we’ll be glad to pay them, give them a reward, whatever [we can do] to get them back,” they said.
The irons are Lady Campbells and the woods have blue-coloured heads. The clubs were in a black golf bag.
