Police are on the hunt for two Nanaimo men allegedly involved in a home invasion Thursday.

Nanaimo RCMP issued warrants Monday for Shane Donald Long, 37, and Reginald Harold Butler, 26. The men are each wanted for one count of aggravated assault after a 38-year-old man was stabbed in the back during an altercation that broke out when several people kicked in the back door of a Departure Bay residence.

Sandeep Manhas, 35, of Nanaimo, was arrested near the home shortly after the incident, and appeared in Nanaimo provincial court Monday charged with one count of aggravated assault. His next court appearance is in May.

A fourth man, arrested Friday, appeared in court Saturday, but Crown counsel opted not to proceed with a recommended charge of aggravated assault.

A 37-year-old woman who allegedly also took part in the incident will not face charges.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Butler or Long is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com.
