Students young and old enjoyed science lessons at Vancouver Island University this past week.
VIU held a GrandKids University special event Thursday, June 30, at the Nanaimo campus, where grandparents and their grandchildren were invited to explore different science stations and take part in activities.
VIU’s biology, geography, kinesiology and natural history departments participated, as well as the university’s Deep Bay Marine Centre. The day concluded with an extreme science demonstration.
This week’s event was the first time VIU had been able to hold GrandKids University since the start of the pandemic.
