Vehicle burns up along the highway in south Nanaimo

An SUV caught fire on the highway, but all occupants of the vehicle were able to get out safely.

Emergency crews were called to Trans-Canada Highway near Cedar Road and the Nanaimo Parkway on Wednesday, June 1, a little before 4:30 p.m. after reports of a sport-utility vehicle fully ablaze.

The vehicle’s occupants were not hurt in the incident, which has slowed traffic in the area.
