Upcoming construction work on Terminal Avenue will affect traffic patterns.
Crews will start working Monday (April 10) on the Terminal Avenue Upgrades Project to replace approximately 300 metres of water main, 1,400 metres of sanitary sewer main and 675 metres of storm sewer main between St. George Street and Stewart Avenue.
Drivers can expect traffic pattern changes along the corridor as required to complete the work.
Periods of night work are also expected in June and July.
Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the day with single-lane traffic, alternating with delays and/or detours, happening at night.
All businesses will be open throughout construction and access to them will be maintained. Drivers are asked to use caution and obey all signage and traffic control personnel.
The work on the Terminal Avenue portion of the project is scheduled to be completed in July, but the entire project, which consists of five zones that include Cypress, Mount Benson, Dawes, Bradley, Holly and Wall streets will run until November.
The work is being completed before Terminal Avenue is to be repaved in 2018.
