UPDATED: Nanaimo RCMP search Vancouver Island University after bomb threat

NANAIMO – Two buildings at Vancouver Island University are currently being searched after a bomb threat.

Roadblocks have been taken down in the area around Vancouver Island University and students and faculty have been allowed back on campus after a bomb threat this afternoon.

The threat was made at about 4 p.m. when a call was made to the university's international student high school building indicating a bomb was in Building 345, according to Nanaimo RCMP.

About 75 people from that building, and adjacent Building 350, were evacuated and police, with a service dog, conducted a search that lasted about half an hour. Nothing was found in either building.
