Updated: District of Lantzville 2015 byelection preliminary results

The voting station is closed as the results have been tallied for the District of Lantzville's byelection.

With four vacant councillor seats and 12 candidates

The preliminary results are in for the District of Lantzville’s byelection.

According to the district, Bob Colclough, Will Wyn Geselbracht, Dot Neary and Mark Swain have been elected to district council.

Along with the four, Jennifer Bielewski, Mike Donald, John English, Richard Finnegan, Warren Griffey, Joan Moody, Doug Parkhurst and Peter Popperl were vying for the vacant spots.

The district said final determination begins Aug. 10 and the chief electoral officer must declare results official before 4 p.m. on Aug. 12.

New councillors are expected to be sworn in at a special meeting Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.

Out of 2,946 eligible voters, 1,089 voters turned out to vote – 37 per cent voter turnout.

In last November’s general election, 1,417 people voted, a turnout of 49.4 per cent.
