Roads around Departure Bay are being re-opened after Nanaimo RCMP cordoned off a two-block radius after a bomb threat was made to the nearby 7-Eleven store.

Spokesman Const. Gary O'Brien said officers search the building and exterior area and found no explosives or materials to cause further concern. A police dog trained to search out explosives also searched the area and found nothing.

The bomb threat was made by phone to the store shortly after 1 p.m., and an employee immediately called 911. All employees left the building as police investigated the incident.
